More eco-friendly clothing is our new year's resolution
In 2019: We're watching our waste
Words— Frank And Oak staff
We've got big plans for 2019 that chiefly involve taking our environmentally conscious clothing to the next level. We’re furthering our commitment to minimal impact products—this means more materials and methods that help us look after the planet.
In 2017 we began with just under 5% of our styles made with minimal impact materials or processes.
In 2018, we upped that number to approximately 30%, increasing our sourcing and use of eco-conscious materials (including cotton, hemp, TENCEL®, lyocell, and 3M™Thinsulate), organic cotton, and cruelty-free, featherless outerwear, along with resource-efficient processes such as our hydro-less denim.
In 2019, approximately 50% of the products we make will be made with these minimal impact processes.
Prioritizing recycled materials
More ways we’re minimizing our impact
It's not just in our clothing.
Every Frank And Oak store is built as conscientiously as possible with recycled materials and locally-made carbon neutral furniture and fixtures from the likes of friends such as Mobilier de Gaspé, Gus* Modern, Élément de Base, and d'Arms Luminaires.
Our packaging now includes:
- 100% recycled and recyclable shipping boxes for online orders
- 50% recycled shipping bags for online orders
- 100% recycled, recyclable (and soon to be 100% biodegradable) shopping bags for in-store purchases
- A reusable tote bag available for purchase
To us, it’s clear: investing in programs that reduce our own footprint is the only way to operate. We hope you’ll join us.
