How to wear looser pants
These pants might even get you out of your jeans
Words— Frank And Oak staff
Things are generally loosening up for men’s pants after years of what seems like skinny everything. Which is great! But if you’re not ready to go for the full wide loose leg, we’ve got just the thing.
Our latest pant strikes the perfect balance between easy-moving comfort, breathable fabric and flattering fit—a gateway to looser, wider pants if you will.
Our Granville pants have loosened up the seat and thighs but cropped and tapered the ankle (some might call it a “carrot fit”). It’s really the best of both worlds. Comfortable, versatile and just plain cool.
Here are three tips for how to wear them.
Put it in neutral
This fit can be a statement on its own, so sticking to black, grey, and navy, for now, is a nice place to start so they can slide easily into the rest of your wardrobe. They’ll look great with everything from a plain white Oxford to a printed Hawaiian button-up. Pick up a couple of colours and play with different vibes.
Pick the right kicks
The great thing about a slim leg is that it really allows you to show off your footwear. Because of their more formal outward appearance, we think they look great with a leather penny loafer but would pair just as well with a slim sneaker—think Converse All Star or our own Park low-top.
Work or weekend
Because it toes the line between slim and loose, the carrot cut pant is also super versatile. Our Granville pant is also constructed with a bit of stretch material for a more comfortable fit that truly makes all the difference when you need to relax.
