Consider the Skyline Series bomber and vest your first line of defence. They’re water repellant, and filled with 3M ThinsulateTM (including 75% recycled polyester), so go ahead and wear either of them solo over your outfit. But pairing them under a second smart layer—whether a wool coat or a rain jacket—lets you modify your comfort level on-the-go without changing your look. And since we don’t want you to slow down a second, you can pack them up into their own self-contained pouches—which have a strap and can be worn like bags for easy transport.

Technical features

Polyester sourced from plastic bottles and other hard plastic. Discarded plastic is diverted from landfills and shredded down into miniature chips, which are turned into fibres, spun into polyester yarn, and woven into new fabric.

A sustainable, cruelty-free alternative to down fill. Not only does recycled polyester offer excellent protection even in extreme conditions, but it’s also more durable than a lot of traditional outerwear fills, as well as being lighter and less bulky. And, unlike down, it performs well when wet.

A coating applied to outerwear that helps rain and moisture bead up on the surface and disperse. The stringent eco-process employed is fluorocarbon-free and doesn’t use fluoropolymers, resulting in an 80/5 rating—meaning that after 5 washes, the water-repellent coating will still be at 80% efficiency.

Lawrence

Wool top layer

Here’s proof that a dapper topcoat can mix timeless design and sustainable technology. We make our Lawrence, Rushmore and Skye models with recycled wool, and ultrathin and soft Meida® thermal insulation adds warmth without the bulk. Each coat can hold its own in a cold snap, but layering them with a bomber or vest lets you keep looking like a consummate professional without sacrificing comfort.

Technical features

This step in garment construction uses extreme heat to seal the seams of a garment with tape. That keeps water and moisture from getting in, resulting in a garment whose seams are both waterproof and windproof.

Nylon fibres made from discarded nylon textiles re-spun into new yarns, reducing the use of resources.
