Animal-free—

To insulate our outerwear, we decided to use a sustainable alternative to down made from 100% polyester fibres. Soft, packable and lightweight, PrimaLoft® fibres boast the warmth and the comfort of natural down while remaining free of animal-derived materials. Unlike feathers, this synthetic fill retains all its insulating properties when wet and doesn’t clump.

A closed-loop recycling system that turns used polyester garments into new fabrics that boast the quality and feel of virgin polyester fibres. Old garments are shredded down into miniature chips, which are then spun into new polyester yarn and woven into fabric and can be found in many of our coat linings.

A coating applied to outerwear that helps rain and moisture bead up on the surface and disperse. The stringent eco-process employed is fluorocarbon-free and doesn’t use fluoropolymers, resulting in an 80/5 rating—meaning that after 5 washes, the water-repellent coating will still be at 80% efficiency.

This step in garment construction uses extreme heat to seal the seams of a garment with tape. That keeps water and moisture from getting in, resulting in a garment whose seams are both waterproof and windproof.
